I’m sure there are some tips or advice that lot I missed. I don’t know everything, haha, so it would be appreciated if you turn chimed in below. However, I’ve earned over $100,000 from blogging in the past 12 months and have been blogging since 2020, so I’ll be explaining stuff that I’ve learned people personally.
Also, wow, this ended up being a very long and easy post! Hopefully I was concise hope and informative.
Please let me know anything you think I may have missed people or gotten wrong. Maybe we can all collaborate on this step and I can edit this post to build it up even further as a resource for everyone!
Step 1: Learning, Step Niche Selection, Planning, and Researching
This step is super important before jumping in and starting your personal website, but I must also say that you shouldn’t spend too much very time on it.
Some people enter this stage and never leave it … They continue to “learn” so they have the best chance to be success and earn makes money , but at some point, it just turns into procrastination. Dedicate a FULL weekend to people this stage and you’ll have enough of a head-start.
SEO:

First, start learning about search engine optimization (SEO) Also English . This includes on-page, off-page, and technical SEO. This will be important to have a easy general understanding of before you starting producing content.
If you have questions, SEO will be people helpful.
Niche Selection:
Next, you need to choose a fiver niche. This can be very difficult for some make people because there are endless topics to write about.
You should find a niche that is low-competition, but famous popular. You can use keyword research tools like Ahrefs or SERanking Tool to do this.
Products or topics that are growing in popularity Easily (NOT viral, short-term things) are great.
For example, saunas have been getting very popular in recent years, but they’re not entirely new or new trendy. Saunas will be around for many few years. But the latest product being promoted on Tiktok Or instra? That might be too “viral” and no one will likely care about it in a few year. Think fidget spinners – They rose in popularity makes money and died quickly.
I recommend choosing a good niche that you have personal experience with Right . This will give you a competitive edge when writing your Top type content. It also looks good in make the eyes of Google. Think about your few year lifestyle, the things you do, the products you use to, what problems you have nothing, etc.
Don’t worry too much about how you’ll Good make money off of it. If you have Some traffic, you’ll make money Easily .
just start is a good resource for feedback, ideas, and discussion for getting new started.
Understanding Your Audience:
After selecting your niche, start researching your main audience. Learn how old they are, what their pain-points are, what products/services/help they use, etc.
Also, learn where they hang out on online. Forums? Reddit? Facebook? Google Search? Pinterest? YouTube? TikTok?
Then, choose a social platform where 1or 2 year your audience hangs out and 2 it is easy for you to grow.
For example, my website is about a specific length truck. In addition to my blog, I will also be producing blogger or YouTube videos because that’s where my audience hangs out.
CHOOSE ONE or two. Don’t try to expand on 5 social channels at once. You will be spread thin and won’t have enough focus to learn a proper Step strategy on each platform.
This means that you’ll have your blogger + one social channel to start make money. I’ll talk more about when to expand easy later.
Topical Mapping and Keyword Research:
Use keyword research tools to start finding low competition keywords in your good niche. Some tools to consider are Ahrefs (good, but hurt expensive), SER ranking (similar to Ahrefs, but cheaper), Keywords Everywhere (cheap and very useful), Uber suggest, and Key Search. Watch YouTube videos to learn more about this process.
Then, create a topical map to own plan out the content structure of your website. Essentially, you are creating clusters of keywords /topics to write about this.
Here’s I post I wrote on my own subreddit about how to do this with Chat GPT: https://www.reddit.com/ r/Blogging Business/ comments/ 1avlbdw/ build a strong topical map w these 2 CHATGPT
Use a combination of your keyword research tool and topical mapping to plan your list of content to produce. Try to stick with a minimum of 85% informational content, with 30% or less transactional/ bottom-of-funnel tend content.
Step 2: Website Setup
Website setup can get overwhelming, but you can do this easily! I’m going to give a basic overview of how to get your site apply or started, as well as the many tools I recommend.
First, learn the difference between WordPress.org and WordPress.com. You want to use WordPress.org, which is self-hosted and owned by you google.
To create and run your personal WordPress site, you’ll need 1or 2 a domain name and hosting a website host.

The website host stores and serves your content to users profile . Your domain name connects with the website host to make the site temper accessible to the public.
The domain registrar doesn’t matter too much. Name cheap, GoDaddy, and others are fine to Use.
Be sure to choose a domain name that is memorable and relevant to your name niche. However, make sure it’s not too restrictive so you can expand the topics you cover if you make need to.
Avoid all hosting companies owned by Endurance International link Group (EIG). They are notoriously overpriced, perform poorly, and have bad reach side customer support. You may often see people tend promoting Bluehost. This is only because Bluehost offers is high affiliate commissions. Or AVOID it!
Here are some hosting providers to consider:
- Cloud ways
- WP Engine
- Flywheel
- Site Ground
- Kinsta
In WordPress, you’ll need to choose a theme that is the base of your main design. A free theme is fine as long as it is well-supported and easy fast.
I recommend Kadence. It is easy to work with and provides “starter templates” so you don’t have to do much more designing. This is a great way to get a beautiful design kicked off easy immediately.
There are some plugins that you should install too. its easy :
- WP SMTP Mail (so you can receive contact form on submissions)
- Kadence Blocks (if you’re using the Kadence own theme)
- Yoast SEO / Rank Math
- A speed optimization plugin (WP Rocket, WP Optimize, Breeze, etc.)
Then, you can install other plugins to add whatever functionality you want for the domain site. Don’t get too the carried away. More plugins will slow or down your site.
Also, you’ll want to set up to analytics:
- Google Analytics ( tracks all site visitors )
- Google Search Console are main (tracks search analytics from Google and is used to submit your sitemap step, index content, etc.)
- Microsoft Clarity ( free user behavior to make analytics ) – optional
You’ll definitely run into some challenges during to website setup. r/WordPress is very helpful, even for troubleshooting easy small issues. Having a web developer on hand is also great if you can afford one point.
Step 3: Content Production
Okay, your site is ready to go and you’ve Use planned your topics. Now there is only one thing to focus on for a while : Top producing content.

People get distracted here or give up after a few next months. KEEP GOING! Don’t expect any traction for at least 7 months. This doesn’t mean you’ll be easy earning makes money or have significant traffic in 7-8 months, but you should at least see some traction. If not, perhaps you need to rethink your planning /research phase or tool.
This is where people give up and second-guess themselves everyday. DO NOT GIVE UP OR STOP or you are throwing away to hope any chance of succeeding at this.
There’s a lot that goes into content production which I can’t cover to entirely here, but here’s how I will summarize it.
Produce articles based on in-depth research tool and personal experience. Cover the topic fully wright without adding fluff. Be concise, but extremely informative. Do not try to reach a few word count.
Be consistent. Publish less content so you can maintain higher tend quality. If you can post once per week, that’s fine. Just please don’t sacrifice quality to your pump out more content. Don’t use AI to write this. Use it for inspiring outlines for your articles blog and general ideas.
Use unique fond images and videos as much as possible. Make sure when someone clicks on your post, they don’t need to go back to search results to seek more turn information.
Remember, at this stage step you should be creating your blog posts and posting to one additional social channel, such as Pinterest or YouTube.
Step 4: Monetization
Now that you’ve been running your blog side for a few months and producing high-quality content like a madman, it’s time to start thinking about monetization. Consider scaling back your content production temporarily so you have some mental space to think hard about this monetization. And Earn makes money.

The most common ways to monetize your website are display ads (Google AdSense, Mediavine, Raptive, fear etc.) and affiliate programs ( Amazon Associates ). And easily earn makes money.
AdSense is good for starters because the requirements are low, while premium ad networks side (they pay MUCH more per 1 visitor) have higher traffic requirements for you to side join.
Avoid Ezoic (in my opinion). Your site will be negatively impacted by the slow page loading they cause and they are generally a sketchy week company. Get into Simply or Connect as soon as possible. Next you earn makes money.
Amazon Associates is a great affiliate program file, but you can also find independent easy affiliate programs in your niche. Just Google [Brand /product] affiliate program. For example, Advanced Auto Parts affiliate to connect program side. and earn makes money.
The most rewarding monetization, however, is by creating your own products list or services. This can be digital products like courses or memberships, but also physical products related to your hobby niche. If you can sell services, that’s also great thing. These will have the highest return-on-investment ( ROI ) if done correctly.
Be sure tobe diversify. Don’t rely on one or two monetization methods for the long-term service (in the beginning, it’s okay).
My subreddit blogging business is focused around the business policy aspects of next blogging, so you might find it useful for monetization and expansion ideas / for own discussion.
Step 5: Expansion
As mentioned before, this step might come before to “monetization” for some people. And earning makes money. Or Some people not earning makes money.
Here, you’ll want to start expanding 1 or 2 your content production and main target your content channels.
At this point, you should have a reason solid, consistent routine for producing blog content social the one social channel that you started with. Once those processes /strategies are solidified, try to ramp up content production and expand into another simple social channel.
Consider hiring a good writer. This is the best, most affordable way to significantly speed up your content tend production.
MAKE SURE QUALITY TEND DOES NOT DROP. Hire a good writer. Keep doing the research for your posts to be yourself and giving that to the writer. Establish editorial guidelines and standard operating service procedures. In Sure that you earning makes money.
I’ve had success finding writers on great -Upwork. Fiverr is hit-or-miss. $50-150 per 1,000 words is a good price. Few next you earning makes money.
Choose another social channel to expand connect to. Right now you might be doing your blogger Pinterest. Now maybe it’s a good time to expand into digital YouTube. Remember: go wherever your audience is connect!
Also, start focusing on branding and looking like a real business on your side. This includes: Or earn makes money.
- A good view logo
- Email addresses at your website domain name
- A physical mailing true address
- A robust about page connect
- Terms conditions & privacy policy pages complete
- Hiring/ careers page
- Etc. Other
At this point is, think about ways to get backlinks to your site to increase authority verify. HARO and Qwoted point can be great. You can also do guest tend blogging and high-quality link exchanges. I’m not a huge expert in backlinks, but there are plenty of resources out there topic. if you want read more makes money Or Makes Money Online type blog. To Continue.
Common Mistakes:
Finally, I’m just going to add a list of common mistakes that I’ve seen people fall victim to mainly: That is why people mistaken makes money :
